- Full SCADA, electrical, HVAC & generator
M•CON Underground is proud to have completed the full rehabilitation of the Faraon Booster Pump Station — a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and structural overhaul that modernized a critical piece of municipal water infrastructure. The project involved a complete remodel of the existing pump station, including a 400 square foot structural addition to house a fourth pump, and the replacement of all pump bases, valves, and check valves throughout the facility. Underground piping, buried valves, and a new 16-inch mag meter installed in a custom 6-foot vault were among the key civil components of the work.
The mechanical scope included three 115-horsepower split case pumps and one 200-horsepower split case pump — each equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs) for precise flow control. Electrical upgrades encompassed a new service from the pole including an automatic transfer switch (ATS), panels, and transformers. A new monorail system was installed to span the entire station, improving long-term serviceability and equipment access. The project was rounded out with full SCADA control integration for all pumps and valving, a new HVAC system, and standby generator installation — delivering a fully modernized, resilient pump station built to serve the community for decades to come.
Project Highlights
Full Station Rehabilitation & Structural Addition: The Faraon Booster Pump Station received a complete top-to-bottom remodel, including a 400 square foot structural addition purpose-built to accommodate a fourth pump. All existing pump bases were removed and replaced, and new valves and check valves were installed throughout — restoring and significantly expanding the station’s operational capacity.
High-Capacity Pump & VFD Upgrades: M•CON installed three 115-horsepower and one 200-horsepower split case pumps, each paired with variable frequency drives for efficient, variable-speed flow control. All associated pump bases, valves, check valves, and underground piping were replaced as part of this upgrade, ensuring long-term mechanical reliability and system performance.
Electrical, SCADA & Infrastructure Systems: A full electrical service upgrade was completed from the pole, including an automatic transfer switch, new panels, and transformers. SCADA controls were integrated across all pumps and valving for remote monitoring and control. A new monorail system spanning the entire station, a modern HVAC system, a standby generator, and a 16-inch buried valve with mag meter in a new 6-foot vault round out the full-facility modernization.
The Faraon Pump Station rehab was a true test of our team’s range — mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural work all happening under one roof. Our crew coordinated every phase with precision and kept the project moving without missing a beat. This is exactly the kind of complex, high-stakes infrastructure work that M•CON Underground was built for.
