We’re proud to announce the successful completion of Cell #8 at the City of St. Joseph, MO Government landfill. This impressive project involved the excavation of 7.2 acres, moving nearly 425,000 yards of shale and rock. Our crew also placed and tested 35,000 yards of a 2-foot-thick clay liner to ensure environmental compliance and long-term integrity. To complete the build, we installed 16,000 tons of sand and 400 feet of 8-inch leachate collection pipe at the bottom. Each step was executed with precision and teamwork.
This project stands as a testament to the strength, expertise, and dedication of our MCON Underground team. Working in close partnership with the City of St. Joseph, we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a project of such scale and importance. From planning to execution, the job demanded both technical skill and a strong collaborative effort. We extend a big thank you to the City for trusting us to get the job done right. We’re proud to have delivered another quality project, safely and efficiently.
Our team showed up every day with determination, grit, and a commitment to excellence. From operators to project managers, every person played a key role in keeping the job moving safely and on schedule. Their professionalism, work ethic, and pride in what they do are what make projects like this possible. We’re incredibly proud of the crew that brought Cell #8 to life.
