Job Description
Employees in this job perform a variety of activities designed to service, repair and maintain pieces of company owned equipment. This work is performed through the application of a body of knowledge that denotes expertise in equipment repair, diagnosis & maintenance.
The employee performs a range of maintenance, repair and service activities on all types of equipment in a developing capacity, with minimal technical assistance from experienced/advanced-level mechanics.
The employee uses considerable, company-minded, independent judgment in making decisions without the availability of supervision.
Opportunities are available to advance and not limited to the below listed but could include employee serving as an experienced worker overseeing one or more lower-level mechanics or as an advanced level worker performing the most complex assignments. The experienced worker provides technical assistance in diagnosis and repair of all equipment, working closely with lower-level mechanics. The advanced worker schedules work, monitors quality control for work performed, customer relations and performs assignments that go beyond those typically expected at the experienced level.
NOTE: Employees generally progress through experience levels based on satisfactory performance and possession of the required experience.
Expertise Levels
- Beginner starts $22
- Intermediate starts $26
- Expert starts at $32 must prove self at beginner or intermediate level.
- Advanced starts at $36 must prove self at beginner or intermediate & expert level.
Physical Requirements
- Some job duties require an employee to move heavy objects.
- Some job duties require an employee to traverse rough terrain.
- Some jobs require an employee to be exposed to inclement weather conditions.
- Some jobs require an employee to be exposed to hazardous work environments, but in a safe and efficient manner.
Education
- High School Graduate or GED
- Have basic computer/tableting skills for entering repair notes.
- Farm & Military experience are preferred attributes.
- Developing ongoing knowledge is required at the beginner, intermediate, experienced and advanced levels to achieve higher levels of employment and compensation.
- Continuing participation in monthly/weekly safety meetings and briefings to obtain and implement information learned in your everyday workday.
